Justice Day on the Hill
TADP holds its annual Justice Day on the Hill during the Tennessee General Assembly’s legislative session each year, bringing concerned citizens to Nashville for face to face meetings with their legislators. We gather at the Capitol to meet with lawmakers, educating them on the problems with the death penalty system and asking them to repeal Tennessee’s death penalty.
Trainings to prepare participants are held across the state in the months preceding Justice Day, and an additional training is held the morning of the event to ensure participants have the most effective visits possible. We encourage participants to arrive by 9:00 a.m. for the training and the day concludes around 3:00. TADP will schedule your meetings with your lawmakers for you. You will visit in teams so you don’t have to go to a meeting alone. We provide all the materials you need so all we need is you! Please dress in business or clergy (if applicable) attire to make your visits. You can purchase lunch there at the cafeteria in Legislative Plaza.
More information about exactly where we will meet at the Capitol, etc. will be emailed to you. Hope you can make it!
